Made in Mauritius is the guarantee of a product designed and developed in Mauritius by designers who work closely with local artisans to ensure that the end-result is driven by attention to detail and workmanship. This local manufacture also promotes short circuits by reducing transport distances and reducing the ecological footprint on products.

Supervision and dialogue with local artisans allow tailor-made, personalized manufacturing, using carefully selected materials that ensure quality and durability at competitive prices.

Through innovative eco design and new production methods, designers are in a continuous flow of imagining what will constitute our objects of tomorrow.

Linen, labeled wood, nettle fibre, Abaca fiber (a variety of banana), are becoming new values for eco-design, in a process of reinventing raw materials. Caring for the environment is a major concern for Nanimarquina, who use biodegradable and recycled products and experiment with textures and fibers for their unique finishes. Traditional production techniques also help to preserve natural resources.

The Norman Copenhagen brand uses “oceanic” fabrics to upholster its seats, created by recycling plastic waste collected in the oceans. Oceanic is OEKO-TEX Standard, Indoor Air Quality Certified and ANSI / BIFMA Furniture Emissions Standard compliant.

Our response to the sustainability crisis is a return to timeless beauty and well-made objects that last and can be passed on.

This is achieved by paying attention not only to design, but to materials. Our partner brands are constantly searching for better materials, such as bamboo, bioplastics and special versions of steel and stoneware. Normann Copenhagen offers an injection moulded polypropylene shell. This industrial process is associated with manual work: the solid wood base is manufactured and then assembled by hand by cabinet makers ensuring the solidity of the seats.

DCW éditions uses the highest quality materials such as aluminium, bakelite, stainless steel and ceramics for its lamp collections, and the indoor/outdoor stool table collections of CFOC are made of glazed stoneware fired at very high temperatures for extra durability.
